Simple Tools®

A parenting lecture acknowledging and embracing your child's unique beginning

 

 
Karen H. Strange, Midwife, Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor, Pre- and Peri-Natal Psychology Educator, offers a workshop concerning babies and children.
 

This lecture will shed new light and give clarity to:

*     Parents with children of any age

*     Therapists and the clients they see

*     Birth Professionals and the women they care for

 

 Attendees will learn:

ü     The sequence of events that occurs spontaneously from labor to baby in arms

ü     Understanding humans as mammals and why this matters

ü     How disturbing the physiology of birth impacts the baby both psychologically and emotionally

ü     Simple Tools® to help babies and children integrate any intense experience

ü     How the mother’s mental and emotional states impact the baby’s brain, nervous system, and most importantly their temperament

ü     Simple Tools® for creating a baby with a calm temperament

 

 
About Karen…Karen H. Strange practiced as Midwife and Clinical Director at a high-volume birth center and midwifery school on the US/Mexico border.  Later she had a small homebirth practice in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.  She served on the Texas Department of Health Midwifery Board and as chairperson of the Complaint Review Process Committee for six and half years.  She has been an instructor of Neonatal Resuscitation since 1991, tailoring her style for those who work in the out-of-hospital setting.  Karen is an advocate for the conscious and aware prenate at birth and shares her wealth of up-to-date knowledge in each session she teaches.
 

Workshop fee:

 $30 per person; $25 student rate (please bring student ID)

$45 per couple (domestic partners)

$25 per person for groups of 5 or more (must register all names together; all must attend)

Pre-registration is NOT required, but is helpful. 

Pre-pay and take $5 off the regular workshop fee.  Make checks payable to Karen Strange, and mail along with your printed registration form to Big Belly Services, 5307 S. Alaska Street, Seattle, WA  98118.  (Sorry, on-line payment is not available for this event..)
