She
has a passion for women's health and pediatrics, and has attended over 110
births. The first birth that she attended (in a doula capacity) was that of
a baby goat on a farm that she was living on, an experience that gave her a
taste of the miraculous wonder that is birth. She believes that birth is a
natural physiological process that is a life-changing event for the family
that is newly being created. She has trained with several well-known
midwives in the Seattle area, and has supported many couples as they make
the transition into parenthood. She loves being present to watch a family
grow. She is a certified Gottman educator and is trained as a "Bringing Baby
Home" facilitator.
In her free time, you will find Tamar hiking, camping, and cooking with
friends in her kitchen. The most powerful medicine is often the simplest-
the woods, good company, and wholesome food. She has a strong affinity for
Western herbal medicine and has spent significant time working on farms and
in medicinal herb gardens tending to plants.
